This 3-day combination Uganda, Rwanda Primates trekking experience focuses purely on the stunning Volcanoes National Park. You will be tracking agile golden monkeys and famous mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park, where more than half (54.9) of the world's population are inhabitants. Bwindi also offers a unique birding opportunity.ย

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Parkย 
You will have an opportunity to visit the Presidential Museum, which is the residence of two of the former Presidents of Rwanda. Here you will have an opportunity to learn a bit about the political history of Rwanda. And then leave the lively capital. You will drive north-west through lush hills and bustling market towns for approximately two & half hours to the stunning Volcanoes.ย 

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park - Transfer to Uganda - Bwindi NP

Drive time: 3-4 hoursย 

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Impenetrable & return to Kigali - Rwandaย 
Drive time: Approx. 4 -5 hours.

Both treks can be moderately strenuous. You should be comfortable walking for 2โ€“5 hours on forest trails. Porters are available to assist if needed.

Yes, both the gorilla and chimpanzee tracking permits are included in the package price and pre-arranged by us.

Yes. If you prefer to skip one or both treks, let us know in advance and we can adjust your itinerary and rate accordingly.

You may spot elephants, hippos, warthogs, buffaloes, lions, leopards, crocodiles, and a wide range of bird species especially along the Kazinga Channel.

This tour can be private or group-based, depending on your preferences. We also customise for families, couples, or solo travellers.

The dry seasons (Juneโ€“September & Decemberโ€“February) are best for both trekking and game viewing.
